From Peterson's demeanor I believe he is GUILTY. Why does a young mother walk out on her two young children who very much need their mom? I believe he had the means to do the crime. And the time to clear his path that might lead anyone to him....after all he is a SGT. he knows exactly what the police will be looking for. He erased his tracks--or did he really? Time will tell.

Aside from the legal case - isn't it easy to justify inflicting problems on others (the neighbors) in order to make money for yourself? And that is what the media is doing - it is not PBS outside his house - they are all scrambling for ratings to MAKE MONEY. Perception of young mothers can be so misguided and many people have made up their mind because "a young mother would not walk away from her children". I work in an attorney's office and we see it all too often and many times family members are more surprised than anyone else. Ask the millions of grandparents who are raising their grandchildren, ask Child Protective Services, ask attorneys. Sadly said, it is not uncommon.

I saw him interviewed the other night on tv. This guy is a cool, calculating wack job. It seems four wives all seem to disappear when he meets up with them. His position on the police force kept everyone at a distance for a time, but now the law is closing in. They are digging up wife number 3 as we speak because they have a body. Sometimes I think Drew Peterson has killed his wife (#4) but then I think he did not kill his wife. But I guess you just have to be smart about it and look for clues. Especially since he is a SGT., he knows all the tricks and what to erase and basically make invisible; get rid of. When you are a police man you know what the police look for, when they are looking for clues and/or evidence. I hope this case is actually taken care of and not just brushed under the rug and forgotten like other cases because the suspect was smart. I hope they figure this out before Drew Peterson looks for wife #5 (if he does)

I was wondering why the first 2 wives haven't spoken up yet. I'm sure they have some interesting information. Regarding him being a cop and knowing how to take care of evidence, remember the cop in Canton Ohio. He should have known too how to cover his tracks after he killed his girlfriend and unborn child. I saw this interview this morning and I have to say, I believe he did do it. The fact that he is a cop speaks volumes as he would know how to set things up,
get rid of things, etc. He mentioned that maybe Stacy left to be with someone else. He was the one who cheated on his 3rd wife, Kathy, with Stacy!
I have 2 children myself, and if I was in an abusive relationship I certainly wouldn't just take off and leave my 2 very small children with this man for fear he would hurt them. He seems very cold, and that would explain how he could go on TV like he did.
I don't understand how the police investigating the death of his third wife missed things. I guess it scares me to think that the "Good Old Boys" club had something to do with it?

I do believe that he did have something to do with his 4th wifes dissapperance, but don't be so quick to believe that the mother wouldn't go this long without contact with her children. My oldest daughter went throught that very thing with her biological mother. 1 full year without contact. If the mother believes that her children are safe where they are she may very well have run without them to protect herself from a dangerous man.

Funny but in reading all the comments it seems like what Mr. Peterson is saying about the media may be right on target. All we seem to see and hear is "He's guilty." Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? I will agree there seems to be a prevalance of abusive relationships when it comes to police officers and yes many of them would know what to hide etc etc. But simply being a police officer and having allegations of abuse in your past and maybe your present does not make you a killer. It seems strange to me that shortly after he was denyed his motion to pay less child support to wife #3, she "drowned", in her bathtub, of all places. And, shortly after wife #4 decided she was going to leave this jerk, she "dissapears". There are also reports that both women stated that they were afraid of him to outside parties. Stacey is his 4th wife and he was seeing her while still married and she was 17. Sex with a minor is a felony.
His 3rd wife Kathleen Savio sent a letter to her district attorney asking for help and saying Drew Peterson had beaten her on many occasions and that she was sure he would kill her.

The local police recorded many domestic violence vists to their home and no charges were ever filed against her husband. She may have been too scared to press charges, the "code" went to far. What a crime.

Why haven't we heard from wife#1 and #2. Are they too scared to talk.

Why hasn't DCFS gone to find out if the young children who are broken hearted that their Mommy is gone. What is he telling them.

Those children need an advocate to protect them from the lies. They need their aunt to hold them and kiss them and make it all better. (Even if it is a facade) They are 4 & 2, someone must give them hugs and kisses and make them smile, someone must take them out of that house of so many memories.

There are no words to describe how horrible this man is. Four woman, four children, they will never be the same. I hope for justice but he is too clever for the law.

Guilty.....since he is now a suspect they have enough but are leaving him out right now as they gather more evidence and see if he slips. Just by going on the Todays show he is showing signs of desperation. They have a pretty good timeline of the hours in which he had time to get rid of her. They probably have a good idea if he killed her at the house or not. I would check the secluded areas that he was familiar with when he was working as a police officer. That is where she is and that could be miles from the house. He's showing confidence that they won't find her but they will. They need to because the kids are living with a Double Murderer. My best friend had his first wife walk out on him and their 3 kids all under the age of 4 while he was laying in the hospital with a broken back wondering if he would ever walk again.

That was 10 years ago. She hasn't attempted to see the kids once! I also know of two other instances of mothers walking out on their children and not resurfacing until many years later.

There have been cases where women killed their children just to continue an affair. Next question would be, how many women just walk away from their kids for the same reason. There are still a lot of unanswered questions concerning the case. I agree that there are many similarities between wife #3 and #4 but at this time it is all circumstantial. If it proven that wife #3 died from accidental causes, there goes the theory that he killed wife #4 since he had 1,000,000 reasons to kill wife #3. You have no body, no weapon and almost no motive. Well we know at least two mothers that between them both killed seven (7) children.
